Article Overview
Grok Bot is xAI’s AI agent product, in beta since 11 August 2026. Before a UAE business gives it access to real work, three questions are worth answering that the launch coverage skips: who can actually get it, what it costs, and where your data goes.
This guide is based on xAI’s own announcement and documentation, checked on 26 September 2026. Grok Bot is still in beta, so details will change. Where xAI’s documentation says nothing, we say so rather than guess.
Key takeaways
- 01Grok Bot is in beta for eligible paid Grok and Cursor plans. xAI’s documentation doesn’t list supported countries or languages, so UAE availability is not confirmed.
- 02There is no standalone Grok Bot price in xAI’s announcement. Bot usage is a separate allowance that resets weekly, so check xAI’s billing page for the limits and any extra charges.
- 03A user’s Bots share one cloud computer, so its files, browser sessions and credentials are available to every Bot. xAI says not to treat separate Bots as a security boundary.
- 04xAI’s documentation states no data retention period, says nothing about data residency, and doesn’t address audit logs. That matters if a Bot will touch UAE customer data.
What is Grok Bot?
Grok Bot is an AI agent from xAI. xAI describes Bots as “AI teammates you can give real work to”: each one works on its own cloud computer, signs into the tools you already use, and keeps working while your own devices are closed. That includes platforms with no clean API, because the Bot uses them the way a person would.
It launched in beta on 11 August 2026. For what people are using it for, see our guide to 30 real Grok Bot use cases. This guide covers the questions a business owner asks before signing in.
Is Grok Bot available in the UAE?
It is not confirmed. xAI’s announcement lists the plans that get beta access, across SuperGrok and Cursor, and says enterprise customers can join a waitlist. Neither the announcement nor the documentation lists supported countries or languages.
The reliable test is to try it from a UAE account on an eligible plan, and to ask xAI in writing before you plan a rollout around it. Arabic needs its own check: the documentation mentions no language at all, so test your own Arabic tasks, and have a native Arabic speaker review the results.
What does Grok Bot cost?
xAI hasn’t published a standalone price for Grok Bot. Access comes with eligible plans, and Bot activity has its own usage allowance, separate from your normal Grok or Cursor usage, that resets weekly. The exact limits, and what happens when you pass them, are on xAI’s plans and billing page and can change during the beta.
For budgeting, treat the subscription as the floor, not the total. Run one person on one task for a month and compare the hours saved with what you actually spent. Our use-cases guide includes a simple payback example.
How does Grok Bot handle security and your data?
xAI’s security documentation describes a sensible approval model. A Bot shows the action it proposes, with its inputs and targets, and you allow it once, deny it, or always allow it. For passwords, two-factor codes, CAPTCHAs and payment confirmations, control passes to you rather than the Bot handling them. xAI lists the actions that should have explicit boundaries: sending messages, publishing, purchases and transfers, deleting or overwriting data, changing permissions, production changes and accepting legal terms. An approval controls the proposed action; it does not undo work already done.
Three things in the same documentation deserve more attention than they usually get:
- Bots share one computer. All of a user’s Bots share a single cloud computer, and the files, browser sessions and command-line credentials on it are available across every Bot. xAI’s own advice is not to use separate Bots as a security boundary.
- Data is stored, and training follows account settings. Grok Bot requires data storage and doesn’t support Legacy Privacy Mode. Whether your data is used for training follows the applicable Cursor account settings, and xAI points to Cursor’s privacy policy for the contractual details. No retention period is stated.
- Nothing on residency or audit logs. The documentation doesn’t say where data is stored or processed, and doesn’t address audit logs. It recommends keeping your own source links and action log for important decisions.
What does this mean for a UAE business?
The practical issue is personal data. If a Bot touches customer or employee records, UAE PDPL obligations apply to that data whichever tool handles it. So the questions above (where is it stored, for how long, who can see it, is it used for training) need answers before the first real task, not after. Today the documentation doesn’t give them. Enterprise customers can join xAI’s waitlist, which is the route most likely to come with contractual answers.
Until those answers exist, a sensible position is to use Grok Bot on low-consequence work that involves no customer or employee personal data, and not to rely on it for anything a regulator or a client would ask you to evidence.
A safe way to try Grok Bot in your business
- Pick one task with a written rule, low consequence and no personal data. Our use-cases guide explains how to choose.
- Give it its own account with narrow permissions, not your main login.
- Never set “always allow” for sending, publishing, payments, deleting or permission changes.
- Keep your own action log. xAI recommends it, and it is the only audit trail the documentation points to.
- If two kinds of work must be kept apart, keep them in separate accounts, because xAI says separate Bots are not a security boundary.
- Run it for a month with a person reviewing every output, then decide.
When a workflow you control is the better choice
Grok Bot suits exploratory work by one person. It is a weaker fit when the work touches customer data, needs an audit trail, or has to run the same way every time. In those cases the same task is usually better built as a workflow on infrastructure you control, with the approval steps, logging and data handling written down in advance. Our guide to digital automation for a UAE business explains when a fixed workflow beats an agent.

Frequently asked questions
What is Grok Bot?
Grok Bot is an AI agent product from xAI, in beta since 11 August 2026. Each Bot works on its own cloud computer, signs into the tools you already use, and completes multi-step work rather than only answering questions.
Is Grok Bot free?
Not as far as xAI documents. Access comes with eligible paid SuperGrok and Cursor plans, and xAI’s announcement lists no free tier. Bot activity has its own usage allowance, separate from your normal plan usage, and the current limits are on xAI’s plans and billing page.
Is Grok Bot available in the UAE?
It is not confirmed. xAI’s announcement and documentation say which plans get access, but neither lists supported countries or languages. The reliable test is to try it from a UAE account on an eligible plan, and to ask xAI in writing before you plan around it.
Is Grok Bot safe to use with company data?
It has real controls, including approvals before actions and a secure handoff for passwords and one-time codes. But xAI’s documentation states no data retention period, says nothing about data residency, and doesn’t address audit logs, and a user’s Bots share one cloud computer. Until those are answered, keep customer and employee personal data out of it.
Does Grok Bot work in Arabic?
xAI’s documentation doesn’t mention Arabic or any other language. Test your own Arabic tasks before you rely on it, and check the results with a native Arabic speaker.
How is Grok Bot different from a chatbot?
A chatbot answers questions in a conversation. Grok Bot carries out work: it signs into tools, moves between apps, and completes multi-step tasks, returning to you when it needs approval.
Usually a reply within one working day.
